Michael Lloyd, originally from Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, is a touring and session guitarist and vocalist who is now based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Michael has been embarking on his musical career since the age of 10. After getting his first guitar on Christmas of 2005, he began working effortlessly. At the age of 14, Michael began to play professionally with a variety of Cape Breton acts. It didn't take long for Michael to become one of the youngest, busiest musicians in Cape Breton. At age 20, Michael moved to Halifax to continue his studies at Saint Mary’s University while still working as a full-time musician. In September 2019, he graduated from SMU by completing his Commerce Degree with a Major in Marketing.
Besides singing and playing 12-string acoustic guitar as he does at most solo, duo and trio shows, Michael is also very well known for being a session lead guitarist and harmony singer for multiple country artists in Canada and the US. Michael has played lead guitar and toured with Makayla Lynn, Chris Buck Band, JoJo Mason, Aaron Pritchett, Andy Bast and many other Canadian country artists. Michael has also had the great pleasure of being the guitarist for other great acts like as TJ King, Jason Price, and Bruce Guthro just to name a few.
Michael has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Billy Ray Cyrus, Washboard Union, Tim Hicks, Meghan Patrick, Brett Eldredge, Dave Gunning, Matt Minglewood, and the sons of Merle Haggard.
With over 400 songs in his repertoire and more than 2000 shows under his belt, Michael performs songs from his biggest influences from 50s/60s country, 70s pop, 80s rock, and onward up to the newest charting songs. Michael can easily suit the music that is needed for any event. With a captivating performance, Michael leaves the the stage with you always wanting more.
