Michael Lloyd, originally from Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, has been embarking on his musical career since the age of 10. After getting his first guitar on Christmas of 2005, he began working effortlessly. Early on, it was inevitable that Michael would choose a career path that followed his love and passion for music.
At the age of 12, he played his first show at the Savoy Theatre, Glace Bay. While continuously working at his craft, at age 14, Michael began to play professionally with a variety of Cape Breton acts like Rob Barrie, Bobby Currie, Andrew Doyle, Cory Keeping, Alton MacKinnon and many more. It didn't take long for Michael to become one of the youngest, busiest musicians in Cape Breton. Over the past eight years of Michael's career, he has played close to 2000 shows.
Michael is primarily playing as a solo performer right now, however there are plenty of duo and Michael Lloyd Band shows. While he continues to play these shows, he still finds time to squeeze in being the hired-gun for many artists as their guitarist and back-up vocalist. In the last year, Michael has played lead guitar and toured with Makayla Lynn, Aaron Pritchett, Andy Bast and many other Canadian country artists. Michael has also had the great pleasure of being the guitarist for other great acts like as TJ King, Jason Price, JoJo Mason, Bruce Guthro.
Although some of his biggest influences are from the rock genre like Richie Sambora, Neal Schon and Steve Lukather, Michael’s background and passion has always been in country music.
With over 300 songs in his repertoire, Michael can keep the music rolling for as long as you need suited for any crowd. From country to Celtic to pop to blues to folk of both the old and new era, Michael can easily suit what you need for any event. With a captivating performance, Michael leaves the the stage with you always wanting more.
