Mike Lloyd hails originally from picturesque Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He is not just a vocalist and guitarist; he's a musical journeyman with a story that unfolds in every note he plays. Mike’s coastal hometown roots present themself strong in everything that he does musically.

 

A Decade-Long Overture:

Mike’s musical saga commenced at the tender age of 10, a journey marked by the acquisition of his first guitar during Christmas of 2005. Since then, he has been a tireless artisan, refining his craft with unwavering dedication. By the age of 14, he was already gracing stages professionally across Cape Breton, swiftly earning a reputation as one of the youngest and busiest musicians in the region.

 

From Cape Breton to Halifax:

In pursuit of both academic and musical excellence, Mike made the pivotal decision to move to Halifax, seamlessly blending university life at Saint Mary’s University with his role as a full-time musician. It was being a musician that got him through his education. In 2019, he graduated from Saint Mary’s earning a Commerce Degree with a Major in Marketing.

 

Strings and Success:

Mike is not just a singer and guitar maestro; he's a sought-after session lead guitarist and harmony singer. He currently is the lead guitar player and musical direction for Nashville based artist, Ben Chase. His musical prowess has graced stages alongside renowned country artists in Canada and the USA, including Makayla Lynn, Chris Buck Band, JoJo Mason, Aaron Pritchett, and more.

With over 500 songs in his repertoire and an impressive tally of 3000 shows, Mike brings a powerful delivery, confidence, and his unique charm to every performance. From small, intimate gatherings to festival crowds numbering 20,000+, he plays every gig with passion. Mike effortlessly traverses genres, drawing inspiration from the golden eras of 50s/60s country, 70s pop, 80s rock, the latest chart-toppers, and pays homage to his homeland with some of favorite traditional folk and Cape Breton numbers.
